- I grew up in the depression but I've never experienced one. Long ago, I learned that I can program a super day, every day, and no one knows the password (to my programmed brain) except me. Sparked by that attitude, and willing to take measured risks, my superb dental staff and I created one of the world's largest dental offices, Gentle Dental in Cedar Rapids, IA--with 34 chairs, a dozen hygienists and 55 employees. Our guiding motto matches that of the Mayo Clinic: "The needs of the patient come first."
